Founded in June 2024 under the expert guidance of mentors Dr. Duan (JHU) and Dr. Cai (NIH), ParkinsonAI is an innovative project developed in collaboration with two high school students. We are a passionate, interdisciplinary team dedicated to harnessing artificial intelligence to transform the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of Parkinson's disease. Our members bring together expertise from machine learning, neuroscience, clinical research, and business strategy to develop cutting-edge solutions that address critical challenges in Parkinson's care.
Eric Zhu, a junior at Groton School in Massachusetts, is the CEO and Head of Engineering at ParkinsonAI. A USACO Gold medalist and alumnus of the Wharton Data Science Academy, Eric combines technical rigor with a deep interest in the intersection of computer science, machine learning, and biology. At ParkinsonAI, he leads the development of the machine learning algorithm and sensor integration, driving innovation in early detection tools for Parkinson’s Disease and related neurological disorders. His commitment to interdisciplinary problem-solving fuels his mission to create accessible, data-driven solutions that improve lives.
Emily Dong, a senior at River Hill High School in Maryland, serves as the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Marketing at ParkinsonAI. Passionate about the intersection of business, finance, and public policy, she channels her interests into real-world impact. Emily was selected for Wharton’s prestigious Leadership in the Business World (LBW) program and has earned recognition in economic leadership through national competitions and outreach initiatives.
